Carolyn Baker, author of Navigating the Coming Chaos: A Handbook for Inner Transition, will be here at Holy Nativity for a daylong, experiential workshop to address the issues we face internally as our external budding economy comes to an end.  Come to hear Carolyn Baker discuss how we prepare for the changes in our post-petroleum age.

Carolyn uses storytelling, drumming, poetry, group work, and meditation to help us address the inner feelings that come with massive-level change. The workshop will be June 22 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Prepaid the cost is $25, $30 at the door. RSVP to the church office. Bring a potluck dish to share.

Arohi Ensemble

Holy Nativity continues its commitment to presenting innovative world music and jazz as the Arohi Ensemble perform at the church on June 2 at 6:00 P.M. Arohi brings a unique blend of ragas and rhythms from India with jazz, Latin, and classical counterpoint.  Come enjoy an evening of dynamic world music and exciting east/west improvisations.

Arohi features disciples of the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar, led by Paul Livingstone one of the leading sitarists in America and world-wind virtuoso Pedro Eustache on bansuri & flute.  Grammy Award-winning cellist Peter Jacobson and the rhythmic mastery of Calcutta tabla master Abhijit Banerjee and intricate exciting drumming of Dave Lewis.

Light refreshments will be served. There is a $15 donation, $10 for students.

Joselyn Wilkinson is a singer, songwriter, percussionist and educator. She is the founder of ADAAWE, 7 Women of the Drum and Voice, and Center Space Education. Joselyn has developed an innovative approach to the drum based on her years spent studying with master teachers in Ghana and Senegal, and her experience as a performer and teacher.
