How’s it Growing?
Four weeks after our official Planting Day on June 14, 2008 the garden is growing almost while you watch! I’m amazed each time I visit to see what’s grown. My goal in the days ahead is to add pages to show the layout of the garden and the plants growing in each bed. I’ll try to get pictures of individual beds to post as well, so if you continue to read this blog you will know what potato plants look like as they are growing and eventually what they look like when we dig them up to harvest them too!
This picture, taken yesterday morning, gives you an idea of how really green everything is getting now. The tomatoes have set fruit, along with the squash and beans. The Rainbow Chard has grown so fast that Father Peter has already harvested some to share with a needy family. Father Peter also harvested some of the abundant Basil that grows as a companion plant amidst the tomotoes and peppers and made Pesto! Which gives me an idea for another page to add…Recipies!
