Our Muslim Neighbors, A Panel Discussion
Sunday, August 26, 4:00 P.M.

How often do we hear people making accusations or sweeping generalizations about Islam? How often do we wonder if the people speaking really know what they are talking about? This forum is for the purpose of helping people get to know the Muslims in their midst. Amidst the Islamophobia in recent years, we often miss out on meeting or genuinely interacting with the Muslims who are our neighbors and colleagues. They are our doctors, engineers, store owners, public servants, and most of all—our neighbors. Some of them were born here; some of them converted. Others came here to the U.S. to make it their home.
Here is an opportunity, especially for those who are a little skeptical and maybe a little unsure, to meet our Muslim neighbors and hear about their faith, their beliefs, their lives—directly from them and not from biased news sources or from people with an ax to grind. All questions are welcome, but we require that you speak with civility, respect, and avoid any adversarial behavior. Come meet our Muslim neighbors.
Join us for a panel discussion and presentation, featuring several Muslim Americans from different walks of life, professions, ages, and genders.
Light refreshments to follow.
