Soup and Spirituality: Dr. John Parrish, 3/8
We will kick off our Soup and Spirituality series with our own Dr. John Parrish, representing the perspective of Christianity. Dr. Parrish teaches and studies political theory, focusing especially on the ethics of political leadership and on the history of political thought. A native of Oklahoma and a summa cum laude graduate of William Jewell College, he has studied at Oxford and Cambridge and earned his Ph.D. in political science from Harvard.
Dr. Parrish has recently been appointed as special assistant to the president, where he will continue his leadership role in the planning efforts for the Playa Vista Initiative on behalf of the executive vice president and provost of LMU.
About Soup and Spirituality
Wednesdays: 6:00 Slow Time and Silence, 6:30 Vegetarian Soup and Salad, 7:15 Lecture and Discussion
It is our tradition here at Holy Nativity to choose a Lenten topic and invite representatives from the various faith traditions to address the topic from the point of view of their tradition. This Lenten series begins on Wednesday, March 8, and continues for the next four Wednesdays and features members from various faith traditions addressing how we deal with these challenging times.
